About Daybreak Prison Ministry

Daybreak Prison Ministry, is a registered charity with Canada Revenue Agency. We have been involved in prison ministry since 1979. Our ministry has included maximum, medium, and minimum security institutions in various countries throughout the world. Using music and God's Word, we deliver the life changing message of freedom through God’s Son—Jesus Christ. Our specific mission is to assist inmates in finding new life in Christ.

We share the love of Christ with the incarcerated, encourage their spiritual growth, and help prepare their entry into our communities and the Church. Along with prison concerts, inmates are offered personal discussion, Bible courses, CDs, and books of Christian inspiration and encouragement. We also provide ministry to ex-offenders and their families in the community settings.

"Prison Ministry" seminars are offered to train lay-people who are interested in starting a local jail or prison ministry. Through the generous donation of partners, this is done free of charge.

Best of all, Royce loves Jesus and what He has done for him. Royce loves sharing this with others and especially seeing inmates receive that same amazing grace.

Nancy Harris

Administrative Director, Director of Women's Prison Ministry

Nancy Gallant was born in Brampton, Ontario. After moving to Dartmouth, Nova Scotia and while ministering as a praise/worship leader in her home assembly, Nancy was approached to join a prison ministry team. This team facilitated a monthly meeting with women in Nova Federal Prison for Women in Truro, Nova Scotia.

  • Nancy’s God-given unique gifts and personality resulted in an immediate connection with the female inmates. This opened the door and began the journey for Nancy and her ministry to incarcerated women.

  • Nancy is now held in high regard by correctional chaplaincy and employed personnel.

  • Nancy and some inmates wrote a song together called, You Are My God. This song is part of the CD package called He Knows My Name. It is a ministry gift that is given to women in female institutions.

  • Because the song was written with Nova Institution inmates, the Institution requested that the CD be first released within their Institution.

  • As a historical highlight, this is the first time in the history of both the Canadian Federal and Provincial correctional systems that a recording release has been done inside a prison. Nancy’s ministry is now being accepted inside correctional systems throughout Canada. Nancy’s CD package is being distributed in female institutions throughout the world.

Best of all, Nancy loves Jesus and what He has done for her. She loves using her gifts and sharing this love with incarcerated females in prisons throughout the world.
